MY COOKING - STORY

Welcome to my world, my cooking story a page or a chapter about me, Charlene. I'm a passionate lover of all things food. Since I was twelve years of age, I’ve been interested in food; from watching my parents preparing meals, then being married and a young mother, I had to increase my knowledge about food.

I found that I enjoyed a higher standard of this art and found much joy in the process. So I proceeded to increase my knowledge by experimenting with various ingredients some ordinary and others not so much at the time. I would have my family and friends to try out my recipes. No one has regretted the tasting, at least far as I know.

After the divorce, my children and I still had to eat. So instead of food preparation, I took an interest in the pursuing the other side of the hospitality industry. After becoming burned out, I looked for other areas to make a living.

After the children had grown and left the nest, I found myself back in the food industry.

I met someone also in the industry and we developed a close and personal relationship. His creative mind began with an idea, then he would see a picture, then production, and finally presentation.

Both of us worked at other jobs and continued to pursue our passion on the weekends. We lived in Connecticut at that time and we enjoyed our time in the kitchen immensely. Regardless of the weather, we used our small grill on top of the window sill and grilled. That was so much fun.

Eventually, we tired of the cold and decided to take the opportunity and move to the sunny state of Florida. So we packed up our belongings, including Thunder the Rotweiler and Cameo the white cat that had one blue eye and moved.

As life would have it my partner and I have gone our separate ways. Thunder was lost and Cameo went to the other side.

So now, I continue to cook and found an opporotunity to write cookbook reviews for theculinaryscoop.com Check under Book Grub - Reviews.

I still live in Florida with Karla my long-haired different shades of gray cat and will continue to add to these pages, so check back often.

Thank you and enjoy!
